Partnering with SFO to Bring You Travel Testing

Dignity Health-GoHealth Urgent Care has partnered with San Francisco International Airport to bring you Rapid COVID-19 Testing at SFO in the International Terminal, Courtyard A on Level 1. Test results are available on-site in 15 minutes after completion of the test. Your results must be uploaded to your Safe Travels Hawai’i account prior to arriving in Hawaii.

How It Works

1. Schedule your clinical evaluation and test for 2-3 hours before your flight departure time

Testing occurs before check-in and security, at the International Terminal, Courtyard A. The evaluation and test will cost a total of $261. This cost will not be billed to insurance and must be paid onsite by credit card.

2. Head to the SFO International Terminal, Courtyard A to complete a Virtual Visit with one of our providers

The most convenient way to the testing site is via the Air Train. Proceed down to Level 1. Your in-person rapid test will be completed right after your Virtual Visit evaluation.

3. Your results will be ready in approximately 15 minutes after your rapid test is complete

Receive your test results onsite and electronically within 24 hours in your Patient Portal. Upload a PDF version of your negative test results to the Safe Travels Hawai’i portal, then head to the check-in desk in the domestic terminal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to do anything after getting testing?

Prior to arrival in Hawaii, all adults 18 years of age and older are required to create an online account, register with the Safe Travels Hawai‘i program, and upload the negative travel test result to your Safe Travels Hawai‘i account. All passengers under the age of 18 must be listed under the account of a registered adult. Completing Hawaiʻi’s Safe Travels program application form and obtaining your QR code(s) for Hawaii airport processing PRIOR TO the date of departure will significantly reduce your screening and processing time once you arrive in Hawaii.

How do I upload my Negative COVID-19 Results to the Safe Travels Hawai’i portal?

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the State of Hawaii has changed its rules for entry and now requires a negative COVID-19 test result, administered by an approved partner organization, to be uploaded to their Safe Travels Hawai’i portal prior to entry into Hawaii in order to avoid a 14 day quarantine period. You must first create an account on the Safe Travels Hawai’i website. Once you have your Negative Rapid COVID-19 Test results, you must download a PDF version of the results and upload them to the Safe Travels Hawai’i Program in the "Documents" section.

How will I pay for my rapid test and clinical virtual evaluation?

The total cost for the evaluation and test is $261 and must be paid onsite at SFO before your clinical virtual evaluation. You may pay at our testing location at the time of service by credit card only. Insurance will not be billed/accepted.

When should I get tested for the Safe Travels Hawaii program?

Your test must be completed within 72 hours of your departure time to Hawaii. If you have a multi-city flight itinerary, the “departure time” is from the last city you leave before arriving at a Hawaii airport. Please ensure you plan accordingly and get tested within this required time frame, as test results obtained outside of this time period will not accepted by the State of Hawaii.

How early can I get tested?

For on-site SFO testing, we recommend passengers coordinate their test on the same day of their flight to Hawaii. You may schedule at any open timeslot, but we recommend reserving a spot 2-3 hours before your departure time, as testing will be closed 90 minutes prior to your departure time. The Hawaii Department of Health will accept negative test results from COVID-19 tests completed within 72 hours of flight arrival time. Learn more here.

How far in advance can I schedule my clinical evaluation and test?

Currently, you have the option to schedule the clincial evaluation and rapid COVID-19 test at SFO 7 days prior to your travel date. If you choose to get tested at one of our local centers, scheduling is available 48 hours in advanced.

Do I have to complete a Virtual Visit first or can I just request testing?

We require a clinical virtual evaluation before your COVID-19 test to assure the best clinical care. We will provide you with a rapid COVID-19 test after your Virtual Visit clinical evaluation.

Where can I find my rapid COVID-19 test results?

Rapid results will be available in approximately 15 minutes. If you choose not to wait at the center for results, they will be available on the Patient Portal within approximately 24 hours.

What type of Rapid COVID-19 Test is administered at SFO?

At the SFO Testing site, our staff administers the Anterior Nare - Sars-CoV-2 RNA Assay, Nucleic Acid Amplification Test using the Abbott ID NOW technology. This test is approved for the Safe Travels Hawai’i program.
