Important COVID-19 Information

Center Visit Process: What you need to know

  1. We are now offering rapid COVID-19 testing, with results in 15 mins or less. If you have symptoms of COVID-19 (fever with a cough and/or shortness of breath) or believe you have been exposed to a COVID-19 postive individual, please schedule a Virtual Visit to find out if you should be tested based on criteria from the CDC, WHO, and Dignity Health. A provider will refer you for testing at one of our local Dignity Health-GoHealth Urgent Care centers if medically indicated.

  2. Although a Virtual Visit is higly recommended, If you cannot schedule a Virtual Visit, please save your spot online at a designated testing center. This will save you time and help us safely prepare for you and other patients.

  3. Please check-in at the front desk prior to your estimated visit time, then return to your car or wait outside. If you’ve opted for SMS from us, our queuing system will text you when a provider is ready to see you inside! Otherwise, our staff will call you when it’s your turn to be seen.

Frequently Asked Questions on COVID-19 Testing

Q: Can I get tested for COVID-19 at your centers?

A: Yes, we currently offer rapid COVID-19 testing if clinically indicated after a Virtual Visit with a provider.

Q: Can I walk in for the test?

A: Please schedule a Virtual Visit prior to coming into a center for a COVID-19 Evaluation. If clinically appropriate based on CDC and state guidelines, our provider will schedule you for an in-person rapid COVID-19 test at one of our centers.

Q: Should I go to the ER if I have COVID-19 symptoms?

A: If your symptoms are severe (trouble breathing, chest pain, fainting, uncontrollable pain) and you feel like you need to be hospitalized, you should seek emergency care right away. However, if your symptoms are mild to moderate we are recommending you stay home to self-quarantine, while continuing to monitor symptoms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my insurance plan cover Virtual Visits?

How much does a Virtual Visit cost?

In-network insurance plans include: Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, Health Plan San Mateo, Health Net (during emergency declarations) Humana, and UnitedHealthcare. Without coverage, a Virtual Visit costs $210. If your Virtual Visit results in a provider directed visit to one of our physical locations, the copay or $210 payment is applied to the in-center visit cost if you visit within 24 hours.

How does a Virtual Visit work?

Similar to WhatsApp, Skype and FaceTime, a Virtual Visit allows you to meet with one of our urgent care providers remotely via video when you can't make it to one of our centers. Like an in-person visit, a Virtual Visit can be made same-day or next-day. Fifteen (15) minutes before your session starts, you will receive an email and/or a text message with a direct link to your video session. Click the link to enter your date of birth and electronically sign any consent form.

When you connect to the video session, your provider will be notified and will join shortly.

What conditions do Virtual Visits cover?

Providers can care for the following areas in a Virtual Visits: allergies, asthma, wheezing, animal or insect bites (minor), bronchitis, respiratory infection, colds, cough, flu, mild fever, earache, headache, nausea, pink eye, eye infection, poison oak, poison ivy, rash, skin infection, sinus infections, sore throat, laryngitis, sprains & strains, and urinary tract infection (UTIs).

Google Chrome is the preferred browser, but Internet Explorer and Firefox are also compatible. You can download the required app from either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Virtual Visits can be scheduled any time and are available Monday-Friday 8am-8pm and Saturday-Sunday 9am-5pm.

Is a Virtual Visit the same thing as telehealth or telemedicine?

Our Virtual Visit services fall under the telemedicine category, defined by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) as “the practice of medicine using technology to deliver care at a distance.” Our providers and teledoctors are experienced with the tools and technology to provide the same amazing care you’d find in one of our centers.
