PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) 

  • A daily medication for people who are HIV-negative and want ongoing protection 
  • It’s a highly effective option as part of proactive, preventive care 

Rapid HIV testing and more 

  • You’ll receive your rapid HIV test results in about 15 minutes 
  • Receive additional STD testing and treatment during the same visit

What to expect during your first visit 

Step 1: Find your nearest center 

  • Check hours and save your spot online, or just walk in  
  • Saving your spot online? Select “Other” for PrEP visits or “Illness” if you have symptoms or STD concerns

Step 2: Get tested and evaluated 

  • Talk with a provider about your needs, concerns and next steps 
  • Take a rapid HIV test and receive results in 15 minutes 

Step 3: Get a personalized care plan 

  • If eligible, you will have additional lab tests performed and receive a prescription sent to your preferred pharmacy

Step 4: Feel at ease 

  • Fast and easy connections to Northwell Health specialists when additional care is needed, including Northwell Health HIV specialists for follow up
