How can I get an antibody test?
If you are currently experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, please start the process with an evaluation by one of our providers through a virtual visit. If you do not have any symptoms, but believe you may have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 more than 14 days ago, please save your spot at a nearby center.
During your evaluation, your provider will discuss with you a recommended care plan based on your medical history and your recent activities. Our providers may recommend that you be scheduled for a rapid COVID-19 diagnostic test at one of our locations, either the same day or next day. The rapid COVID-19 diagnostic test will determine whether you have an active COVID-19 infection in less than 15 minutes. This test is performed by a quick nasal swab. If you are positive for COVID-19, you will not need an antibody test, and will need to immediately self quarantine.
If you are negative for COVID-19 after taking the rapid COVID-19 diagnostic test, you may take an antibody test, which will help answer the question of “was I infected with COVID-19 at some point previously?” The antibody test requires a simple blood draw and takes 3 to 5 days for results to come back after they are sent off to the Legacy lab for analysis. Once we receive your results of the antibody test from the lab, our team will inform you of your results and suggested next steps.
