Important Pre-Op Testing Information

  • Legacy patients should schedule their COVID-19 test within 72 hours of their surgery. Results will be available in approximately 50 minutes after testing and can be found on your MyHealth Patient Portal.
  • Pre-op Legacy patients will need an PCR Test in order to be cleared for surgery. If you are not a Legacy patient, please inquire with your surgery center about the type of COVID-19 test required for surgery.
  • Pre-Op testing is available at the following Legacy-GoHealth center locations: Lake Oswego, Williams, West Linn, Salmon Creek, Gresham

How much does a pre-op COVID-19 test cost?

Pre-op COVID-19 testing is $240 for patients without insurance. We are in-network with most major insurance plans, including all insurances billed by Legacy Health Systems. COVID-19 testing can be billed to insurance but coverage is dependent on your individual plan.

How do I provide my results to my surgery center?

You can access your COVID-19 test results in your MyChart Patient Portal or wait for a paper copy from the center you were tested at. For PCR testing, we recommend waiting in the car or coming back to facility in approximately 50 minutes after test is performed to pick up a paper copy of the results. All Legacy surgery centers and providers will have access to the online test results in your Patient Portal.

How far in advance of my surgery should I get tested?

Your pre-op COVID-19 test must be completed withing 72 hours of your surgery.
