Frequently Asked Questions

How does a Virtual Visit work?

Similar to WhatsApp, Skype and FaceTime, a Virtual Visit allows you to meet with a provider via video when you can’t make it to one of our centers. Like an in-person visit, a virtual visit can be made same-day with no appointment necessary. 15 minutes before your session starts, you will receive an email and/or a text message with a direct link to your video session. Click the link to enter your date of birth and electronically sign any consent form. When you connect to the video session, your provider will be notified and will join.

What conditions do Pediatric Virtual Visits cover?

Pediatric providers can care for the following areas in a Pediatric Virtual Visit: COVID-19 evaluation, animal/insect bites (minor), asthma or wheezing, cold, cough, flu, pink eye/eye infections, poison oak/ poison ivy, rashes/ skin infection, respiratory infections, seasonal allergies, sinus infections, stomachache/diarrhea/vomiting, sprains and strains.

How much does a Virtual Visit cost?

In-network insurance plans include: Medicare, Aetna, CareOregon, MODA, PacificSource, Regence and UnitedHealthcare. Without coverage, a Virtual Visit costs $99. If your Virtual Visit results in a provider directed visit to one of our physical locations, the copay or $99 payment is applied to the in-center visit cost if you visit within 24 hours.

When can I access a Pediatric Virtual Visit?

Pediatric Virtual Visits are available every day from 8am-8pm. You can schedule a Virtual Visit up to 72 hours in advance.

What devices do I need?

You will need a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop w/ internet connection (webcam and mic necessary if using a desktop). Google Chrome is the preferred browser, but Internet Explorer and Firefox are also compatible.

Who can be seen via a Pediatric Virtual Visit?

Children and young adults ages 0 - 18 years old, who are physically located within the State of Oregon or Washington at the time of the Virtual Visit can be seen.

How is the after-visit summary handled with a Virtual Visit?

The after-visit summary (AVS) is available to the patient via Legacy-GoHealth Urgent Care’s online patient portal, available on our website.

Can I receive prescriptions from a Virtual Visit?

If your provider deems it necessary, prescriptions are handled in the same manner as an in-person visit and are delivered electronically to the patient's pharmacy. Narcotics may not be prescribed during a Virtual Visit.

Is a Virtual Visit the same thing as telehealth or telemedicine?

Our Virtual Visit services fall under the telemedicine category, defined by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) as "the practice of medicine using technology to deliver care at a distance." Where as, telehealth is defined as "electronic and telecommunications technologies and services used to provide care and services at-a-distance." Our providers and teledoctors are experienced with the tools and technology to provide the same amazing care you'd find in one of our center.
