Frequently Asked Questions

How does a Virtual Visit work?

Similar to WhatsApp, Skype and FaceTime, a Virtual Visit allows you to meet with a provider via video when you can’t make it to one of our centers. Like an in-person visit, a Virtual Visit can be made same-day with no appointment necessary. 15 minutes before your session starts, you will receive an email and/or a text message with a direct link to your video session. Click the link to enter your date of birth and electronically sign any consent form. When you connect to the video session, your provider will be notified and will join.

What conditions do Pediatric Virtual Visits cover?

Pediatric providers can care for the following areas in a Pediatric Virtual Visit: COVID-19 evaluation, animal/insect bites (minor), asthma or wheezing, cold, cough, flu, pink eye/eye infections, poison oak/ poison ivy, rashes/ skin infection, respiratory infections, seasonal allergies, sinus infections, stomachache/diarrhea/vomiting, sprains and strains.

In-network insurance plans include: Aetna, Cigna, Medicare, Healthfirst, and UnitedHealthcare as well as Medicare/Medicaid. Without coverage, a Virtual Visit costs $75. Can I receive prescriptions from a Virtual Visit?

If your provider deems it necessary, prescriptions are handled in the same manner as an in-person visit and are delivered electronically to the patient's pharmacy. Narcotics may not be prescribed during a Virtual Visist.

Is a Virtual Visit the same thing as telehealth or telemedicine?

Our VIrtual Visit services fall under the telemedicine category, defined by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) as "the practice of medicine using technology to delvier care at a distance." Where as, telehealth is defined as "electronic and telecommunications technologies and services used to rpive care and services at-a-distance." Our providers and teledoctors are experienced with the tools nad technology to provide the same amazing care you'd find in one of our center.
