Dr. J.D. Zipkin is the Chief Medical Officer at GoHealth Urgent Care and is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
Dr. Zipkin has a consistent history of improving clinical quality and across the urgent care industry. In 2019, he received the Urgent Care Association’s National Quality and Safety Award and went on to be their Antibiotic Stewardship Chair. Based on innovations with antibiotic stewardship, he has been the first person in the urgent care industry to be invited to the CDC’s Antimicrobial Challenge and has continued to work closely with the CDC to improve outcomes throughout the industry.
Academically, Dr. Zipkin received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh, where he focused his studies on healthcare systems analysis. He then went onto Penn State Health, where he earned an Innovation in Graduate Medical Education Grant, became a Center for Integrated Healthcare Delivery Systems Scholar, and later served as Chief Resident Physician.
