We have taken steps to enhance our support and continued commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion by introducing Team Member Resource Groups (TMRGs) at GoHealth. TMRGs are team member-led, self-directed voluntary groups that offer opportunities to network internally, attract a diverse team member base and provide the inclusion of ideas and solutions by creating the opportunity to experience differences. My GoHealth Journey
Andrea Williams, Director of Operations
I started with GoHealth back in May of 2017.
Initially, the intention was to join this company that had seemingly uprooted our simple same-day visits operations as an X-ray Technologist, and so I applied to one of the job openings. GoHealth hosted a series of informational sessions for folks like me to get a better understanding of the company’s brand and operations, and slowly I began to believe in its mission. Throughout the hiring process, I quickly grew a desire for more, but this was only because a market leader saw in me qualities for leadership that I had not yet recognized. And so it was, I accepted a position not as a Rad Tech, nor Chief Rad tech, but as Center Manager over our market’s first center, Avon.
As you know, we are GoHealth, we are fast and furious. Our market quickly blazed a path and scaled. This required a persistent growth mindset, and so I took on projects with courage which helped to grow our business even more. About a year into my journey, my title was elevated to Regional Manager as we now had more than 10 centers. Riding on the back of collaboration and armed with courage and integrity, I sought growth opportunities outside my home market, which was now at 18 centers, and accepted a role as Senior Operations Manager two and half years later in our North Carolina market. There, I found renewed purpose as I had an extensive opportunity to serve our staff by impacting the way they experienced work. Again, fully embracing the market’s needs and launching numerous projects, allowed me to grow skills and relationships that would set me apart. I quickly learned that character, truth and an authentic personal brand could take you far beyond what any degree could.
Ten months into this journey in North Carolina, I had the opportunity of a lifetime to return to my home market where I could finally impact and serve in ways I never dreamed. My formula has not changed. I lead the way I would want to be led. I am humble, fierce and I listen, and serve with a heart filled with love and a mind that is eager to learn and grow others, embracing my role as Director of Operations with utmost stewardship.
