Community-GoHealth Urgent Care Names Dr. Ravindrakumar Alagugurusamy as Medical Director

Community-GoHealth Urgent Care is pleased to announce that Dr. Ravindrakumar Alagugurusamy (Dr. Guru) has been appointed as Medical Director. 

In this role, Dr. Guru will work closely with Sarah Burnette, Director of Operations; Heather Lents, Advanced Practitioner Lead; and Harold Brown, Regional President, to continue strengthening clinical operations across the network. He will oversee initiatives that support clinical quality, enhance operational efficiency, and advance the mission, vision, and values of the Community-GoHealth partnership. 

Dr. Guru brings deep urgent care experience and a steady, trusted leadership presence to this role. With several years of experience in the urgent care setting, including the last four in physician leadership positions, his background as a board-certified family medicine physician and his career focused on urgent care have shaped a thoughtful, operationally grounded approach to clinical leadership – one that will be invaluable as Community-GoHealth continues to grow.

Prior to joining Community-GoHealth, Dr. Guru   served as Associate Medical Director at Memorial Hermann-GoHealth Urgent Care in Houston, Texas, where he played a key role in strengthening clinical operations, supporting providers, and driving consistency and quality across the market.  

Dr. Guru earned his medical degree from the American University of Antigua and completed his Family Medicine residency at Louisiana State University in Lafayette, Louisiana. His professional interests include clinical quality, medical education, and provider well-being. In his free time, Dr. Guru enjoys spending time with his wife, playing basketball, and travelling, and he is also an amateur chef who loves experimenting in the kitchen.
