Dr. Michael Klevens Named Medical Director for Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care
Dr. Michael Klevens has joined Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care as Medical Director, overseeing clinical leadership, quality, and operations of its centers in Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Dr. Klevens brings over two decades of experience as an emergency medicine physician and healthcare executive and is committed to fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture that empowers all team members. His unique background includes a previous career in commercial banking, with degrees in economics, history and business administration. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American College of Emergency Physicians. Throughout his career, Dr. Klevens has demonstrated exceptional leadership in healthcare operations, quality improvement initiatives and patient-centered care delivery.
Before joining Mercy-GoHealth, he served as the Medical Director for Immediate Care Services, overseeing emergency medicine, urgent care and telehealth. He led the St. Luke’s Emergency Department for 10 years, integrated a second emergency department into the organization, and collaborated with multiple hospital departments, community leaders, and patient advocates to establish the St. Louis area’s largest hospital-based COVID vaccination clinic.
