Legacy-GoHealth Urgent Care Now Offering Virtual Visits to Patients

PORTLAND, OR June 19, 2019 GoHealth Urgent Care, one of the nation’s fastest-growing urgent care companies, and Legacy Health, a nonprofit, locally owned organization based in Portland, Oregon, and serving Oregon, Southwest Washington and the Mid-Willamette Valley, today announced the launch of a new service enabling patients across the state to schedule virtual visits with urgent care professionals from Legacy-GoHealth Urgent Care centers.

Legacy-GoHealth Urgent Care’s new virtual visits make it easy for patients to connect with a healthcare professional remotely. The virtual visits are broken into three simple steps:

  1. Go online to select your symptoms and schedule a time
  2. Fill out your demographic info
  3. Connect to the video session with your provider

Everything about the virtual visit experience is designed with the same diligence we associate with in-person care. Each visit is staffed with certified providers who currently work in one of our urgent care centers. All medical records are integrated with Legacy Health, allowing access during the visit to up to date medication and treatment history, and providing an easy transfer of next steps to your PCP or specialist. Virtual visits can be made for a wide range of medical conditions including cough and cold, pink eye, flu, allergies, bug bites, and many others. The visits are also in-network with most insurance plans, similar to an in-person visit. In addition, patients can obtain prescriptions as needed through their virtual visits with a Legacy-GoHealth Urgent Care professional.

“The primary goal of Legacy-GoHealth Urgent Care is to provide the best and most convenient service for our customers – wherever they are,” said David Tep, Northwest Market President Legacy-GoHealth Urgent Care. “We know that sometimes when you need medical care, you may be unable to visit our centers or would rather stay at home. Now patients can get the help they need from anywhere – from the same providers they trust every day.”

Virtual visits can be scheduled Monday through Friday from 8 am to 8 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm at www.GoHealthUC.com. Following a virtual visit, patients in the Portland area will be seamlessly connected with their 4 closest Legacy-GoHealth Urgent Care centers for any extra follow up.

GoHealth Urgent Care and Force Diagnostics Join Together to Make Life Insurance Health Screenings Effortless

Rather than a Medical Professional Making a Visit to the Home or Office, Consumers Will Be Able to Visit a Conveniently-Located GoHealth Urgent Care Center for Life Insurance Policy Health Screenings

ATLANTA and CHICAGO (April 29, 2019) – GoHealth Urgent Care, one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing urgent care companies, and Force Diagnostics, a clinical underwriting data services company, today announced a first-of-its-kind partnership that aligns urgent care centers with life insurance applicants requiring a pre-policy exam as part of the clinical underwriting process.

GoHealth Urgent Care and Force Diagnostics will launch first in the Dignity Health-GoHealth Urgent Care market in Northern California in May 2019, followed by additional geographies such as Portland, Oregon and the New York metro area later in 2019.

The current, antiquated model of life insurance pre-policy clinical underwriting usually requires a medical professional to come to a consumer’s home or place of business to administer an exam, along with taking labs and other vitals. This home or office visit can often be intrusive and inconvenient for the applicant. In addition, clinical underwriting is traditionally a time intensive process, that can take up to 60 days from start to finish. With Force Diagnostics’ ClinicsNow! software, applicants can now complete all the required steps in 48 hours or less at GoHealth Urgent Care centers.

GoHealth Urgent Care and Force Diagnostics are disrupting the current model by connecting two disparate ecosystems – the life insurance industry and the care-on-demand urgent care industry – dramatically improving the customer experience while significantly condensing the timeframe for approval.

“Innovation has always been a part of our DNA at GoHealth Urgent Care. This new partnership with Force Diagnostics underscores our customer focus and commitment to removing friction from healthcare experiences,” said Boyd Faust, Chief Strategy Officer for GoHealth. “Our urgent care centers are conveniently located where consumers live, work and play, and we pride ourselves on delivering unparalleled experiences, not just to injured or sick patients, but now to life insurance applicants as well.”

“With over 5 million life insurance applications in need of clinical examination processed in the U.S. each year, our partnership with GoHealth Urgent Care has the potential to change the industry,” said Scott Filer, CEO of Force Diagnostics. “We’re thrilled to partner with GoHealth Urgent Care, as we work together to create an innovative system that will modernize the life insurance process; benefitting both life insurance companies and their consumers.”
