This prestigious award acknowledges McPherson's exceptional leadership, dedication to community service, and significant contributions to healthcare operations.
In her six years at Dignity Health-GoHealth, Denise McPherson has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills, excelling in both clinical and operational capacities. Starting as a nurse practitioner in 2016, McPherson swiftly climbed the ranks, becoming the lead nurse practitioner within a year. Today, she holds the pivotal role of director of operations, overseeing 14 urgent care centers and a Virtual Urgent Care platform.
McPherson's remarkable career journey began as an emergency department nurse, and she later pursued a master’s in nursing as a family nurse practitioner. Her commitment to operational excellence became evident during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. McPherson efficiently operationalized rapid testing in San Francisco locations, bringing crucial services to the community.
A leader who values input from all team members, McPherson starts each staff meeting by soliciting concerns from medical assistants to regional operations managers, ensuring an inclusive approach to problem-solving. Her collaborative and attentive leadership style has been instrumental in the success of Dignity Health-GoHealth.
Beyond her professional achievements, McPherson is deeply involved in the San Francisco community. She teaches CPR classes to caregivers of seniors through the American Heart Association and oversees a scholarship fund in her Georgia hometown, honoring her father and supporting college-bound high school students pursuing healthcare careers.
Denise McPherson's commitment to excellence has been recognized with the GoHealth “GoBeyond” award during her tenure as a nurse practitioner. Her team's accomplishments in creating an injection course, ensuring proper medication administration per state guidelines, showcase McPherson's dedication to advancing healthcare practices.
