Open ‘til midnight, the new center in Yaphank is Northwell Health-GoHealth’s 59th to serve New Yorkers

YAPHANK, NY (February 5, 2024) – Suffolk County residents now have increased access to care as Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care opened a new center on Feb. 2, 2024, at 527 Boulevard East in The Shoppes at the Boulevard in Yaphank. Open until midnight, the center is Northwell Health-GoHealth’s 18th center in Suffolk County.

“Since we opened our first center in 2014, we continue to expand our footprint to meet the community where they are by providing expert care options that include late-night hours,” said Vivek Taparia, regional president of Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care. “Our Yaphank center delivers unparalleled care for our community members, whether in-person or virtually, so that they get the medical care they need, at their convenience.”

About Northwell Health-GoHealth’s new Yaphank center

Northwell Health-GoHealth’s center in Yaphank is centrally located in The Shoppes at the Boulevard, in front of Walmart. It is open from 8 a.m. to midnight, Monday through Sunday.

Northwell Health-GoHealth treats common non-life-threatening health concerns for adults and children six months and older, including upper respiratory infections, minor cuts, ear infections, treatment for sexually transmitted infections, fractures and more. It offers onsite X-rays, testing and flu vaccines.

The center design and processes have been carefully considered so that common procedures, like stitches, can be done efficiently, getting patients on their way sooner. Northwell Health-GoHealth's streamlined registration process and large exam rooms make getting care easier, especially for families.

Patients seeking care can be seen quickly and easily by walking into the Yaphank center or going online to save a spot and pre-register. For details about Northwell Health-GoHealth and other locations, visit https://www.gohealthuc.com/northwell.

Extended hours to provide late-night care

The new Yaphank center is the 11th Northwell Health-GoHealth center to provide extended hours from 8 a.m. till midnight, seven days a week. Historically, Suffolk County families have had limited options for late-night care and faced the decision of whether to wait or go to the emergency room.

Northwell Health-GoHealth centers are a more affordable option for safe and efficient care outside of higher-cost settings like the emergency department for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. They also provide a direct connection to Northwell Health’s robust network of care, which regularly earns national recognition for excellence in quality and safety, research, and innovation.

The complete list of centers that are open until midnight now include:

“By providing late-night hours, we are increasing access to care, when and where our patients need it most,” said Taparia. “In many instances, fevers, coughs, sore throats, and minor injuries that require X-rays, sutures or other medical services don’t wait for a convenient time to occur. By being open until midnight, we’re helping families avoid the emergency room or waiting until the next day for medical attention.”
