Dr. Malizia is trained in all subspecialty areas, and he is comfortable caring for both genders and all ages of patients, including children and infants. In addition to diagnosing and managing urgent illnesses, Dr. Malizia is skilled in recognizing subtle signs of more serious, potentially life-threatening emergencies. He works closely with the local emergency medical services and emergency department of Staten Island University Hospital to get such patients the emergency care they need.

Staten Island and the Wagner College community have played a large role in Dr. Malizia's life. Cheering on the Wagner College Seahawks football team is a fond memory Dr. Malizia shares with his parents (Wagner classes of 1968 and 1970), as well as his two brothers and sister. Dr. Malizia's parents, his father a captain of the football team and his mother a cheerleader, met during their college years and were married in Staten Island. He enjoys serving the community that played such a large role in his family's history.
